Whether we’re performing a routine blood test, pinpointing the cause of an illness, or examining an injury, diagnostic testing is important throughout your pet’s life. At Mountainside Veterinary Hospital, we have a broad range of in-house diagnostic tools and capabilities.

In-House Laboratory

We have a complete in-house lab where we can process bloodwork and perform a wide range of tests to diagnose urgent problems. Our testing capabilities include the following:

  • CBC/chemistry profile
  • Canine/Feline pancreatic function test
  • Thyroid test
  • Heartworm
  • Tick-borne diseases, including Lyme Disease
  • Ear and skin cytology
  • Urinalysis/fecal tests
  • Feline pancreatitis and liver function testing
  • Feline ProBNP blood test for early detection of heart problems
  • Comprehensive blood profiles to test for a wide range of underlying conditions
  • Drug Therapy Monitoring

Digital X-Rays

We offer the advantages of a complete radiology department with digital x-ray equipment. Digital x-rays use less radiation and produce highly detailed images that our doctors can enlarge and manipulate on a computer screen for better viewing.

For noninvasive examinations of the body, we have a state-of-the-art ultrasound unit. Ultrasound is ideal for locating tumors and evaluating internal organs, evaluating pregnancies, and guiding needle biopsies. Ultrasound can also help us distinguish fluid from soft tissue.
