Dr. Danielle Kila is a 2026 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.
Originally from Severna Park, she earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During the last two years of college, Dr. Kila began working as a veterinary assistant and spent a total of five years in the role, where she developed a deep appreciation for compassionate patient care and the importance of strong client relationships. She has shared her journey and passion for veterinary medicine with her older sister, Kathleen, who is also a veterinarian — together, they are proudly known in the family as ‘the Dr. Kila duo.’
Dr. Kila’s professional interests include urgent care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound. She is passionate about strengthening the human-animal bond and believes in partnering with pet owners to provide the highest quality care possible while meeting each client’s individual goals and needs.
Growing up, Dr. Kila danced competitively for 15 years and later discovered a love for sailing, competing in races for about four years. She is excited to be moving back to Maryland in hopes of getting back out on the water. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys hiking, beach time, practicing yoga and Pilates, and her family’s company, including her loving partner and his daughter. Dr. Kila’s favorite food is Maryland blue crabs!
At home, Dr. Kila has a full furry family that keeps life entertaining, including two long-haired gray cats, Samantha and Porkchop, a black tripod cat named Milo, and a black Labrador mix named Lyla.
