Minimally Invasive Surgery (Endoscopy)
"Band-aid surgery" -- that's what the
human medical field calls endoscopy, because the
incisions are so tiny and because there is little
discomfort.
We at Mountainside Veterinary Hospital
feel the same type of surgery should be available
to our patients. After all, they are valued
members of your family too.
We now offer endoscopy (minimally
invasive surgery) for selected cases.
Endoscopy involves making a very small
incision (1/2 inch) and inserting a telescopic
camera. The camera magnifies and projects
its view to a TV monitor (like in your living
room). With our endoscope, we can quickly
and efficiently "take a look" at a problem
area and decide what needs to be done. This
technology has proven very useful in liver, kidney,
bladder, lung, and nasal disorders.
Safer surgery, tiny incisions, and
minimal discomfort make this a dramatic improvement
over standard surgery techniques.
We are pleased to be able to offer
this option to our clients and their animal friends.
